The ICFS Training program incorporates the Aboriginal Operational and Practice Standards and Indicators (AOPSI), the practice standards developed by Indigenous Child and Family Serving Agencies/Delegated Aboriginal Agencies

Cultural Perspectives Training

Indigenous Perspectives Society: Centre of Excellence in Community Education (IPS) offers Cultural Perspectives Training (CPT) to help governments, organizations, businesses and individuals deepen their understanding and develop actionable ideas to respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People.

Community and Family Support Training

Indigenous Perspectives Society: Centre of Excellence in Community Education (IPS) offers Community and Family Support training courses that help guide participants to be effective in their roles, working collaboratively in community and family support teams. Participants work in both Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations and communities throughout British Columbia and across Canada.

Justice & Equity Training

Indigenous Perspectives Society: Centre of Excellence in Community Education (IPS) offers Gladue Writer Training, Gladue for Probation Officers training and Fundamentals of Gladue for Communities, to support stronger engagement with restorative justice initiatives and application of Gladue principles and practices. These trainings support a wide range of participants working in justice and corrections systems and across private and community sectors.

Indigenous Perspectives Society: Centre of Excellence in Community Education (IPS) offers a wide range of training workshops and courses, both publicly and privately. IPS offers virtual, in-person, and blended (in-person & virtual) training deliveries. IPS is practiced at customizing training for specific client’s needs and accommodating flexible delivery options.
