This full day course introduces participants to key concepts around the inter-generational effects of colonization with impact to Two Spirit, Indigiqueer, and LGBTQ* folx. While inviting reflection on the realities of homophobia and racism, there is an emphasis on identifying and celebrating resilience, resurgence, and pride in identity. Discussion also includes available supports and services for youth.

This unique training includes a discussion circle of community members, a Two Spirit Elder, and youth.

Lastly, this course encourages self and workplace reflection to explore meaningful relationship-building and support strategies for 2SLGBTQI* youth.

This training is appropriate for youth, families, circle members and workers who wish to deepen existing knowledge and explore culturally-based tools to foster support and inclusivity.

This course also includes access to an online resource sharing page once it has been completed.

2SLGBTQI* (Two Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Indigiqueer, * refers to all other beautiful beings in the extended family)

  • Interactive and fun. [This workshop] encouraged us to be vulnerable and uncomfortable in moments, in a safe and welcoming environment. All the resources are so helpful!

  • I would highly recommend training from IPS. The diversity of facilitation techniques used was highly engaging. I look forward to the next chance to learn and grow from future courses.
