This 1 day training discusses resilience and helpful supports of our Two Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQ* youth. Topics covered include intergenerational effects of colonization, the unique two spirit identity, finding place in Indigenous, Western, and LGBTQ* communities, reflection on collective and individual unconscious biases, and available supports and services. This unique training incorporates classroom learning activities with a panel discussion including community leaders, elders, and youth.
This training is appropriate for youth, families, and workers who wish to deepen existing knowledge and explore culturally-based tools to foster support and inclusivity.
This course also includes access to an online resource sharing page once it has been completed.
This was the best all day workshop I’ve ever attended! Caring and so full of information!
Interactive and fun. [This workshop] encouraged us to be vulnerable and uncomfortable in moments, in a safe and welcoming environment. All the resources are so helpful!
I would highly recommend training from IPS. The diversity of facilitation techniques used was highly engaging. I look forward to the next chance to learn and grow from future courses.
