Our Work at Indigenous Perspectives Society
At Indigenous Perspectives Society (IPS), we provide training and services that strengthen Indigenous communities, support child and family well-being, and promote reconciliation. Our programs are designed to empower professionals, organizations, and communities with the knowledge and skills needed to create meaningful, lasting change.
Indigenous Child and Family Services Training (ICFST)
Our ICFST program is tailored for social workers and professionals working within delegated Indigenous child and family service agencies. Rooted in Indigenous knowledge and best practices, our training equips professionals with the tools to navigate complex legal, cultural, and systemic challenges while prioritizing the safety, well-being, and sovereignty of Indigenous children and families. With a focus on culturally grounded practice, policy navigation, and intergenerational healing, we support those working in the field to uphold the rights of Indigenous families and communities.
Indigenous Caregivers of British Columbia
The Indigenous Caregivers of BC program provides vital training, support, resources, and advocacy for Indigenous caregivers across the province. We recognize the essential role that caregivers play in the well-being of Indigenous children, families, and communities. This program offers culturally grounded guidance, training, and connection to services that strengthen caregiving practices and ensure Indigenous children grow up with a strong sense of cultural: identity, belonging, and support.
Cultural and Professional Training
Beyond child and family services, IPS offers cultural perspectives training, community and family support training, leadership and governance training, and gladue writer training. These programs support organizations and individuals in fostering cultural competency, understanding Indigenous histories and perspectives, and advancing equitable policies and practices.
Our Social Enterprise: Strengthening Communities
Through our social enterprise, IPS delivers customized training, consultation, and policy development services to governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Revenue from these services is reinvested into our mission, supporting Indigenous-led education, advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives. By working with IPS, organizations contribute to reconciliation efforts while gaining meaningful, impactful learning experiences.
Join us in strengthening Indigenous communities through education, training, and action.
