Indigenous Perspectives Society: Centre of Excellence in Community Education (IPS) offers Understanding Money Matters for Non-Profit Leadership training to support strong leadership, accountability and good governance. This one and a half day course provides an overview of financial elements that all non-profit leaders should know, to ensure their organization remains financially healthy. The training will increase participants knowledge of overall financial management and accounting processes. Learning outcomes include:
- Understanding the differences between charities, non-profits and for profits
- Maintaining charitable status
- Accounting basics
- Internal controls and cash flow
- Liability and depreciation
- Preparing and working with budgets
- Audits and risk management
