With a diverse range of topics, from supporting Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQI* youth to understanding cultural perspectives, our spring lineup offers something for everyone. Join us as we dive into important conversations, challenge stereotypes, and empower ourselves with knowledge and understanding.

All My Relations: Supporting Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQI Youth* Date: April 12, 2024

Our journey begins with “All My Relations,” a training session dedicated to supporting Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQI* youth. Led by knowledgeable facilitators, this session will explore ways to create safe and inclusive spaces where all youth can thrive. Whether you’re a youth worker, educator, or community member, this training will equip you with the tools and understanding to support and affirm Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQI* youth in your community.

Building Local Relationships Date: April 23, 2024

Next, join us for “Building Local Relationships,” where we’ll delve into the importance of establishing meaningful connections with local Indigenous communities. Through discussions and interactive exercises, participants will learn communication strategies, cultural humility practices, and other essential skills for building strong, respectful relationships that benefit both organizations and communities.

Dispelling Myths and Stereotypes Date: April 30, 2024

In our “Dispelling Myths and Stereotypes” session, we’ll confront common misconceptions about Indigenous peoples and promote understanding and respect. Through real-life examples and engaging discussions, participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to challenge stereotypes, advocate for truth, and contribute to positive change in their communities.

Cultural Perspectives Training Date: May 14, 2024

Voluntary Services Dates: April 15, 2024 – May 17, 2024

Our Voluntary Services training offers a comprehensive exploration of voluntary services within Indigenous communities, providing participants with the skills and knowledge to support community development and empowerment.

Guardianship Dates: May 28, 2024 – June 7, 2024

Join us for our Guardianship training, where we’ll delve into the responsibilities and practices surrounding guardianship within Indigenous contexts, equipping participants with the tools to provide effective support and advocacy.

Child Protection Dates: June 18, 2024 – July 8, 2024

Our Child Protection training offers essential knowledge and skills for professionals working in child welfare, with a focus on Indigenous perspectives and cultural safety.

Gladue Writer Training Dates: April 15, 2024 – June 25, 2024

Finally, don’t miss our Gladue Writer Training, where participants will learn the fundamentals of writing Gladue reports, empowering them to provide culturally relevant support to Indigenous individuals within the criminal justice system.
