IPS Youth Circle Introduces L.E.A.D.R.S. Mentorship Program

Here at Indigenous Perspectives Society (IPS), we’re dedicated to nurturing the next generation of Indigenous leaders. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our Youth L.E.A.D.R.S. Program – an innovative initiative designed to empower young Indigenous individuals aged 16 to 25 with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to become leaders in their communities and beyond.

L.E.A.D.R.S. stands for Leadership, Empowerment, Action, Development, Resilience, and Support – and that’s exactly what this program is all about. Through a combination of mentorship, skills development, and community engagement, we aim to equip young Indigenous people with the tools and confidence to step into leadership roles and make a positive impact in their communities.

The IPS Youth L.E.A.D.R.S. Program offers a range of opportunities and resources to support the growth and development of participants. Here’s what you can expect:

Mentorship: Each participant will be paired with a mentor who will provide guidance, support, and encouragement as they navigate their leadership journey.

Skills Development: Through workshops, training sessions, and hands-on experiences, participants will have the opportunity to develop essential leadership skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and project management.

Community Engagement: The program encourages active involvement in community projects and initiatives, providing participants with opportunities to apply their skills and make a tangible difference in their communities.

Cultural Connection: We recognize the importance of cultural connection in leadership development. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in cultural activities, learn from Elders and knowledge keepers, and deepen their understanding of Indigenous traditions and values.

Networking: The program also offers networking opportunities, allowing participants to connect with other young leaders, professionals, and community members who share their passion for positive change.

Whether you’re passionate about advocating for Indigenous rights, addressing social issues, or driving positive change in your community, the IPS Youth L.E.A.D.R.S. Program offers a supportive and empowering environment where you can turn your aspirations into action. By participating in the program, you’ll not only develop valuable skills and experiences but also become part of a network of like-minded individuals who are committed to making a difference.
