About the Role

Reporting to the Community Services Manager, the position performs preventative and on-demand maintenance and minor repairs on the Vuntut Gwitchin Government (VGG) vehicle asset pool (e.g., trucks, snowmachines, boats, quads) and maintains a relevant inventory of parts and materials.

You will bring efficiencies and contribute to the responsive abilities of our team and will provide on-the-job mentorship and direction to develop other members of the team.

 

Our ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications

·       Completion of a mechanic program is an asset.

·       Minimum of 3 years of experience with working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles as well as diagnostic systems and methods.

·       Experience in auto maintenance and repairs.

·       Experience maintaining a relevant equipment and material inventory.

·       Knowledge of workplace safety practices.
