We are seeking a Collaborative Practice and Permanency Worker to join our team at Nezul Be Hunuyeh Child & Family Services in Prince George. The successful candidate will play a multifaceted role facilitating work within Guardianship, Youth Transitions and Post Majority, Family Services, and Resources service lines. This work will focus on gathering the circle and facilitating family/community planning meetings that relate to prevention, reunification, transition to independence, and permanence. While the position is based in Prince George, regular travel to Fort St. James and the communities served by Nezul Be Hunuyeh is required. A full job description is available upon request.
Type: Permanent Full-Time (35hrs – 5days/wk.)
Wage Grid: $42.90 – $48.88 hourly with Competitive Benefits and Pension
Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate and facilitate family group conferences, youth transition conferences, family case planning conferences, reunification assessment conferences, and planning sessions
Provide clinical expertise on permanency options that include legal, relational, physical, and cultural components.
Provides direct practice support to the NBHCFSS team to move identified permanency plans forward in collaboration with community and family members.
Establish collaborative working relationships and liase between families, the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Nezul Be Hunuyeh staff, member Nations, and other community service providers
Provide referrals and advocacy as required
Maintain a C4 level of delegation to perform tasks and responsibilities related to the mandated delegated services provided by the Agency as per the AOPSI & CFCSA
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Social Worker, or comparable Human Services Degree is preferred. A Diploma and relevant work experience may be considered.
A minimum of three years of delegated experience is required to provide the clinical and CFSCA/AOPSI, Bill C92 expertise that is required to fulfill this role.
Knowledge of child/adolescent development, and/or child psychology
Possess cultural competency in working with Dakelh children, youth, families, and communities
Able to work independently and collaboratively building effective interpersonal relationships
Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure, anticipate potential problems, and reduce potential risk
Able to reflect and interpret the Agency Vision, Mission, and Core Values in their work with enthusiasm and commitment
Demonstrate leadership skills, strong analytical, assessment, and problem-solving abilities.
Be proficient in the use of computer programs as well as oral and written communication
Possess knowledge of Dakelh culture and communities served by Nezul Be Hunuyeh.
Training and/or experience in facilitation and/or mediation is an asset
Indigenous ancestry is considered an asset

Applicants must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License & provide an acceptable Driver’s Abstract
