Understanding and Healing Lateral Violence from an Indigenous Perspective
This one-day workshop provides insight into understanding and healing lateral violence and how it effects Indigenous communities.
Through the use of circle, group exercises and individual reflection, we explore the definition of lateral violence, contributing factors of abuse, characteristics of abuse, collective effects felt by Indigenous communities and groups, and how oppression is perpetuated.
The workshop concludes with an exploration and development of a toolbox to reduce lateral violence.
Understanding and Healing Lateral Violence from an Indigenous Perspective is being re-envisioned and the new version will be launched in 2020.
