Pauquachin First Nation is seeking to hire a permanent, full-time Social Worker.  Operating under the direct supervision of the Health Director, the Social Worker provides outreach services, support and crisis intervention to Pauquachin First Nation children, youth, and adults.

The wage for this position is $35 per hour.

Education and Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) from an accredited school of Social Work;

·       Current full registration with the BC College of Social Worker as a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW);

·       Minimum of 5 years of recent, related experience in direct service, community-based healthcare delivery systems;

·       2 years’ recent experience delivering supervised clinical services to related to addictions, mental health, family conflict, relationships and social barriers; or

·       An equivalent combination of education, training and experience

·       Experience delivering therapeutic models such as Somatic Attachment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy;

·       Experience working on advanced and complex professional social work cases;

·       Experience working from a trauma informed, culturally sensitive perspective;

·       Experience working with First Nations people and communities;

·       Experience working within Indigenous Child Welfare Services;

·       Valid class 5 driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and a clean driver’s abstract and appropriate insurance is required;

·       Valid first aid and CPR “C” certificate required;

·       Clean criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector required.
