Finance Manager
Temporary Full-time (14 Month Term) – Fort St. James, British Columbia

Nezul Be Hunuyeh is a Delegated Aboriginal Agency serving the communities of Nak’azdli Whut’en, Binche Whut’en, and Tl’azt’en Nation. Nezul Be Hunuyeh is looking for a highly skilled, educated, and experienced individual to fill the role of a Finance Manager for a temporary full-time14 month contract. The Finance Manager shall work out of the Fort St. James office and shall be responsible for the overall accounting system and financial well-being of
the organization. The Finance Manager reports to the Executive Director and shall supervise and mentor other finance staff.

Key Areas of Responsibility
• Manage and maintain all financial matters of the organization according to GAAP.
• Ensure efficient management, control, and use of financial resources.
• Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, and annual budgets.
• Ensure compliance with all mandatory financial and payroll government remittances and reporting
• Oversee payroll and benefits, including onboarding/enrolment and terminations/cancellations
• Generate financial reports to funding sources and management in timely and accurate manner.
• Process and maintain accounting and payroll controls and recommend improvements.
• Plan for, participate and collaborate with auditors in year-end audits.
• Participate in management meetings to discuss financial results and issues.
• Supervise and monitor finance staff duties, accuracy and timeliness or work.
• Other relevant tasks as may be assigned.

Successful Applicant Skills:
• CPA, CGA, CMA, CAFM or Degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Minimum of five years’ accounting and supervisory experience.
• Proficiency with accounting software(s) and MS Office Systems.
• High degree of tact, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in Indigenous Communities.
• Experience in proposal writing.
• Knowledge and understanding of Dakelh Culture and member communities served by
Nezul Be Hunuyeh

Applicant must agree to a Criminal Record Check and have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Indigenous Ancestry is an asset.
