Department Summary

Position Summary

The Senior Infrastructure Architect is an essential part of the IT organization with the mandate to ensure cross organizational alignment with business and IT strategies. The Sr. Infrastructure Architect will develop and maintain a detailed view of the organization’s system and technology capabilities, information and data assets, identify business capability enhancement opportunities, provide recommendations for optimization of business information and technology. This position plays a key role in collaborating with various infrastructure teams and providing senior technical guidance to team members on infrastructure design and implementation.

Your typical week at Maximus

Provides infrastructure architecture leadership in the evaluation, selection and recommendation of strategies, technical solutions, and professional services; liaise with vendors and contractors in the overall architecture blueprinting phase of the solution delivery process.
Analyses organizational goals and related system’s needs, provides advice on procurement decisions to support infrastructure requirements to meet both existing and future needs.
Maintain the currency of the technology and systems, conceptual data models and related documentation, architectural artifacts, and business knowledge, enabling methodical approach for assessing the maturity and health of various organizational capabilities.
Defines high-level business capability and data transformation roadmaps to address the gaps between the future and current state, gaining enterprise stakeholders’ approval and corporate buy-in.
Provides strategic recommendations on the most effective ways for maximizing the value of existing and new technology investments and data assets by partnering with business unit leadership, and through the analysis of current business strategies, organization’s information, and data assets, considering evolving business environment, information technology and industry trends,
Develop and document the proposed technical design for the integration and implementation of any new information system, working across the IT department.
Create detailed plans for the integration of new systems architecture into existing infrastructure.
Model IT architectures to author technical solution documents that align to existing policies, standards and roadmaps.
Analyze existing systems to ensure they offer adequate performance, security and are effectively meeting the needs of the organization.

What you offer us
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, 5 plus years of demonstrated progressive IT experience in enterprise applications/architecture delivering enterprise transformation projects to scale business operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) project is required.
Certification in TOGAF or COBIT considered an asset.
Windows 2012 -2019 Certification, Red Hat Enterprise Linux or equivalents, Cisco networking.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Exhibits expert understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) (including emerging trends in DevOps and Agile), Quality Assurance requirements, and software development control and release procedures
Highly proficient in Unix and Linux operating systems, middleware software (WebLogic), web software (apache), database Oracle database deployments
Ability to support Technology’s strategic and operational roadmap of business systems and enterprise architecture to align with corporate & strategic goals, the digital roadmap, and operational priorities
Experience with multiple and diverse technologies and data processing environments
Experience with authentication and authorization architectures
Proficiency in one of the follow technologies: networking, Linux/Unix/Windows OS, databases, enterprise storage.
Familiarity with the IT application development life cycle.
Experience in preparing wide variety of program and project documents (e.g., business case, feasibility study, RFx, Business Requirements Documents, Architectural blueprints etc.).
Familiar with Cyber Security and relevant data privacy, accessibility, and compliance requirements.
Web server and application server administration and web applications deployment experience.
Ability to translate business needs into EA requirements.
Ability to effectively communicate at technical and executive levels.
Ability to estimate the financial impact of EA alternatives.
