Maintenance Manager

Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA) has an immediate opening for a full-time Maintenance Manager to oversee and participate in the care, maintenance and repair of all GVHA properties and facilities. This role involves both field work and office work. You will be responsible for leading a team of up to ten with repairs and maintenance projects, maintenance services, including landscaping and waste management, and event implementation. This position also leads GVHA’s Occupational Health & Safety Committee.

Ideally, you have an apprenticeship or trades certificate in Carpentry or a related field, a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience and 3 years of experience in a commercial marina environment. You have a well-rounded background and skill set in maintenance and construction. You are knowledgeable in the safe use of tools and equipment operation and have a strong awareness of public safety when conducting maintenance activities. Proficiency in boat handling and operation, and knowledgeable of harbour and waterway regulations are an asset.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent stakeholder and customer relation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and enjoy working collaboratively in a diverse and busy environment.
