Indigenous Perspectives Society is a provincial organization that provides professional development to Indigenous child and family services in BC, to nonprofits, governments, municipalities, and corporations. Unique to our organization, is our commitment to culturally relevant services. The Society works in cooperation with First Nations and Indigenous child and family service programs to protect and enhance the well-being of First Nations and Indigenous Peoples by reaffirming traditions, and through effective child and family service delivery that empower the voices of Indigenous Peoples.
Purpose of the Position:
The Curriculum Development Coordinator will play a fundamental role in supporting the development and distribution of curriculum materials. The position involves coordinating various aspects of the curriculum development process, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of educational training programs. This role requires a highly organized individual with strong communication and technical skills.
Nature of Work and Position Links:
The Curriculum Development Coordinator will work closely with the Curriculum Team, as well as with training instructors, contractors, and administrative staff. The role involves communicating essential information within and between the Curriculum and Instructional Teams, coordinating meetings, managing and updating curriculum databases and the online learning management system, supporting the ongoing improvement and modernization of the curriculum, and facilitating the distribution of all training-related materials. The ideal candidate for this position will be proactive, possess strong administrative writing skills, and have a keen eye for detail.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A diploma or certificate in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- General office experience.
- Proficiency in keyboarding, word processing, Excel spreadsheets, and other standard computer applications.
- Experience drafting correspondence independently and from written and verbal instructions.
- Experience maintaining databases and filing systems.
- Familiarity with the Moodle online environment.
- Operational knowledge of Moodle.
- Proficiency in data gathering techniques, including online research.
- Knowledge of routine office practices and business correspondence.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Broad computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
