Emotional Intelligence

On September 30, Tom Rippon of Camosun College, will be joining the Administrative Excellence Conference as the presenter of the Emotional Intelligence workshop.

Emotional Intelligence has a direct impact on how individuals behave. To be emotionally intelligent is to be fully aware of your own emotions and the emotions of others, and how both impact relationships – how we motivate, influence, empathize, lead, make decisions, become conscientious, and deal with stress. This presentation will address emotional intelligence within the context of productivity in organizations.

Dr. Tom Rippon is full-time faculty at Camosun School of Business and associate faculty at Royal Roads University. He has published and presented papers at national and international conferences, and peer reviewed manuscripts for publication in journals in addition to novels. His research interests include: culture and cultures of peace; governance and security; ethics; environment of business; and human resource management.  With a colleague from England, he co-edited a book on Governance and Security as a Unitary Concept. He writes novels in his spare time and is currently writing the second book of a trilogy – a spy and murder mystery series. Dr Rippon has a Ph.D. from the University of New England, NSW, Australia.
